  Welcome to Campfire Safaris Private Game Reserve - a totally unique project with opportunities and features that differ greatly from most of the volunteer work experience projects, tourist destinations and internship venues, you'll find in South Africa
Work activities and Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily lectures on Conservation, Game Farming and Game Farm Management
  • Field guiding
  • Game ranging
  • Maintenance work around the farm and lodge
  • General help where ever help is needed
  • The student will enjoy enough time to work on assignments as dictated by their Teaching Institutes

Daily Activities:

Daily activities change with the seasons. During the summer months (October – April) the day temperatures reaches 30-40 degrees Celsius. This makes it impossible to do any work or extended walks during the heat of the day. Therefore daily routines can change to accommodate extreme temperatures.
  • click for enlargementBush walks average of 1 -3 hours 5 days per week either in the morning or late afternoon
  • Lectures average 1.5 – 2 hours per day
  • Bush or maintenance work 2 hours per day
  • Leisure Time: depending on the season this can vary from 3 to 4 hours per day.
    Saturdays are official day of leisure and Sunday's activities vary from formal lectures to practical lectures eg. Weapon handling, practical camouflage games in the bush or treasure hunt.
Work schedule:

Students will work an average of 30 hours per week (5 hours per day). The rest of their time is for assignment research, leisure, social interaction with other students,excursions to other projects and sight seeing trips.
