2007 News !!!
January 2007Happy new year to all our students and volunteers !!
Re-cap on 2006:
The year ended on a high note with numerous elephant and lion sightings. First there was our early morning bushwalk in November. On our way back to the camp we walked into 17 lions. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE even for me who has lived here my entire life!! Then a large pride of lions caught a giraffe close to camp and we went to investigate. Two large male lions did not appreciate our company and gave us the best warning charge I have ever experienced. To top this off, we went on our last walk for the year and stumbled on a heard of elephants sleeping. (A very rare sighting to see elephants lying down). AND THIS ALL HAPPEND IN 2 WEEKS !!!
2006 will be remembered by us for the wonderful new friendships we made with so many of our students and volunteers. It was a privilege to have met all of you and we are looking forward to see you soon. Thank you for your hard work in our community projects and your smiling faces even when the sun tries to kill us on our bushwalks. You make every day a new experience for all of us at Campfire.
What can you expect in 2007:
Community projects are pouring in and some of you will experience game capture, specimen collection, working with anti poaching units in private game farms and so much more.....
Campfire Safaris just got accredited by FGASA as a training centre. We worked hard to achieve this status and this will enable old and new students to enroll in our field guide training courses.
I will keep you up to date will all our new developments and make you jealous with our unique experiences in the bush.
Bush greetings!!!
