VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE

If you are interested to learn how
a game farm or reserve is managed and
be trained in the management of such a reserve, you've come to the right venue.
Laetita and Adele
will take you behind the scenes where the tourist has no insight and teach you how to build your own game farm, the principles of wild life
management, conservation and preservation of the eco system.
It will of course not all be academics, no, you'll play the role of and learn about the function of the classic
African Game Ranger and or field guide plus
have ample opportunities to apply the theory you've learned, practically, while doing Game Reserve maintenance and improve on conservation techniques at
Campfire Safaris.
INTERNSHIP AND PRACTICAL TRAINING PLACEMENT

We offer university and college students in any field of nature and wildlife related study, the opportunity to come to Campfire Safaris for an extended period of time, to do their "Internship and/or Practical Traineeship" under the guidance and supervision of our wild life and conservation educators,
Adele de Beer
and Laetitia Cronjé
(for more information, see Internship & Practicum Programme)
FGASA FIELD GUIDING COURSE
A very high standard is set throughout this course! (Vocational guidance forms part of the course). To succeed in this comprehensive course commitment and a true interest in nature are required. Theoretical and practical work will prepare students for the working environment and to be an asset to his/her future employer. Students will learn how to interpret nature and how to convey this knowledge in an interesting and meaningful way to tourists from all over the world. Field Guide students have to complete First Aid Level 1, which will be presented during the course. The certificate is valid for 3 years and a requirement upon registering with FGASA and other national bodies.
WHAT IS A FIELD GUIDE?

“Guiding is essentially about genuine enjoyment of people and an honest appreciation of, and dedication to, all the many faces nature has to offer us. It is indeed a privileged occupation. Imagine being paid to take people out into the wilds of Africa ! To sit around the warm flickering flames of a campfire each evening, savouring the smell of wood smoke, while friendships are formed and forged.
This is a unique opportunity to learn and get QUALIFIED!
We offer a course in animal management. Why do we hunt, which animals are hunted, what is the difference between trophy hunting, meat hunting and poaching.
Young people who desires to learn about hunting or whishes to help with animal management are welcome to register.
